so true

YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH

So, I got this e-mail from my garndma the other day. See if this will work for you. Some how the chocolate math will figure out how old you are

DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!

It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read.
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out! This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50

5. If you have already had your birthday this year
add 1762 ..

If you haven't, add 1761..

6... Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

7. You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).

The next two numbers are YOUR AGE!

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2012) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.
Chocolate Calculator.

Books I read this semester

So, I haven't really read many books this semester because I'm not a very fast reader. But, here is a list of the books I did read:

1) The Help by Kathryn Stockett
2/5 stars

2) Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares (1st book in the series)
4/5 stars

3) Sisterhood Everlasting by Ann Brashares (almost done reading)

4/5 stars (so far)

New interesting website

So, this past weekend, I found a cool website called Keek. It is a website where you can make video messages for your friends are veiw video massages from celebraties. I set up an account but have not yet done a video. I am following Jesse McCartney so everytime he posts a new video, telling me that he has made one. He is also following me which makes me so excited.

Final Thoughts on the Course

My favorite assignment this semester would probably be the bucket list assignment. I liked this assignment the most because I got to be creative without needing to stick to a format. I got to show my creative side but also I learned that I'm a more advangerous person then I know.

My least favorite assignment this semester would probably be either the "moment" assignment or the blackout poetry. I didn't like the "moment" assignment very much as the other assignments because I found it hard to come up with a interesting "moment" in my life that I would be comfortable to share with everyone in the class and the blogging universe. I also didn't enjoy the blackout poetry very much as the other assignments because I also found this assignment a little hard to find a topic within a different newspaper. I really didn't understand this assignment so I don't think mine turned out well.

I liked the Friday reading periods this semester because it forced me to improve my reading skills. To be honest, if we didn't have the weekly reading period, I don't think I would of read the books I did this semester. I don't like to read because I'm not a very good reader and in the past, I really didn't read. My reading skills improved a tiny bit this semester because I was choosing interesting books to read. I find if a book is boring, I will not continue to read it. I don't choose to read in my spare time at home but this course made me sit down for an hour and read.

I didn't like doing the Monday Writing or Reading reflections because I didn't find it helpful for me to do reflections on what I did or read the previous week. I’m not sure if it is helpful for other people to read my reflections. I guess it could help others to hear about a book I'm reading because they may choose to read the book. I didn't read any other peoples reflections.

I found my WRN not helpful to have. I didn't really use it this semester; I put all my additions on my blog. The notes I have in there, I really haven't looked at them since we wrote them in there.

I liked blogging this semester. I think it is a fun way to share with people what we have done during the semester. It also is an environmentally friendly way to save paper. I will say that I wish I had put more personal additions on my blog.

I think tweeting our bucket list items was a fun way to get our goals out in the world. I found it fun to tweet celebrities about what was on their bucket lists. I got two replies, which I found exciting. I don't know if I will continue to use Twitter after this class is over but you never know.

I think the integration of technology into the course was fun. I have never been in a class where the class focused so much on using technology to teach the class. Most of the classes I have been in all about using textbooks to teach the class. These days, technology is so heavily used in people’s spare time. Most teachers would get mad if someone has their phone out during class.

This semester I learned a bunch of new things about myself. I learned that reading could be fun if you can find a book you really like. My writing and spelling skills improved this semester because we wrote so much during all of our assignments. I learned new ideas to use to put my writing out in the world. I found out that I'm more creative then I knew.
Over all, I liked this class. I didn't know about this class when I signed up for classes in grade 11. I was not originally in this class but I had to have another English type class to get in to the education program at the U of W. This was the only English type class that was available that would not mess up my timetable. I'm glad that I got the opportunity to be in this class. I wish I would have known about this class because I would have signed up for it right from the start. I think Ms. McLauchlan is a very good and fun teacher. She made the class fun to be in. I have had other teachers who don't make the class to be in. Ms. McLauchlan made me want to come to class.

I f I would have to give advice to future creative writing students, I would probably tell them that this course could be fun if you choose to make it fun. I would also say, keep up with your personal additions on your blog and in your WRN because you will regret not doing more of them at the end of the course.  I would tell grade 11's who are choosing their grade 12 classes to sign up for this course.

Final Grade

I believe my blog for this semester is sitting at an 85% mark. I know I could add way more personal additions. I do believe that my blog reflects my personality with the kitty cat paw print background. My personality is also showed in the fact that everything is pink which is my favorite colour. All my personal additions I did this semester reflect my interests and hobbies. My blog has every assignment that was to be put on our blogs. This blog made me write more then I usually do which in my option is a positive. My blog has a Twitter app that I update everyday. I wish I know how to add more apps to it. This blog made me really think of interesting ways to share information.

the Bachelorette week 5

So, tonight was the fifth week of The Bachelorette.

Emily has 10 guys remaining to fight for her heart. This episode is set in London.

The first one-on-one date goes to Sean. Emily set up a private double decker bus for a tour of London. They went to Buckingham Palace where they took a picture in front of the balcony where Prince William and Dutchess Kate kissed on their wedding day. They had dinner in the Tower of London. He made a wonderful speech in front of lots of people. He got a rose

8 men go on the group date (Alejandro, Chris, Ryan, Doug, Kalon, Arie, Travis and John) got to act out a Romeo and Juliet play. While at the after party, Doug told Emily that Kalon called Ricki "baggage" the night before at the guys house. Emily went to confront Kalon and he didn't deny it, so Emily told him to get out and go home. Emily ended up not giving any of the men on the date the rose. Her reasoning for this was because none of the men backed her up. In my option, I believed that they didn't speak up because everyone thought that she had it under control.

The last date of this week was an other one-on-one date. This date was giving to Jef.  Emily plans etiquette course for them. They decide to sneak out while the etiquette expert was in the other room and go to a local pub. While at dinner, Jef told Emily that he was in the room when Kalon said that her daughter was "baggage". Jef told her that if Ricki was "baggage” then she is an expensive Prada bag.   Jef also told Emily that Ricki and him will have all night dance parties. So cute. Jef got the rose.

At the rose ceremony, Emily sends home Alejandro. Which leaves only 8 contestants to fight for Emily’s heart

My picks to win Emily's heart

                Sean
                Jef
                Arie

Dreams start now

I believe this quote is mmore true now then maybe a couple of years ago. Grad is in a couple of weeks. It is never to early to acheve your dreams. In a couple of weeks, we will be out of high school and will be in the real world. The last 13 years of our lives, we have gone to school and our teachers have told us what to do every second of our school year. Dreams are what will help us get through the next few decads of our lifes. Don't wait until you graduate to start achevving your dreams, our future starts today

"So What"

So, for my "So What" I have decided to pick my number 8 items on my list, which is "meet my birth parents". I'm currently on the list to meet my birth parents. I have an older sister (from same birth parents) who started the process with CFS (Child Family Service) in May 2011. She went to CPS and they opened up the file they have there about our adoption and our birth parents. We are on a list waiting hear if CFS has found them. Even if they are found, they will need to say they want to meet us. I feel excited in away because I want to meet them so I can ask them questions. Some questions I would asks them are:

a) Why did they choose alcohol over their own children?
b) I want to know about my medical history

I have no plans on keeping in touch with them after meeting them. My mom (the one who adopted me) is afraid that I will ditch her for my birth parents. I keep them her that I wont but she doesn’t seem to believe me.

I will probably have to go to counseling before I meet my birth parents. My sister wants to meet them also but probably more then me.

I don't really know my history and want went on when I was a baby, so I want them to tell me that information. I also want to know if they have any pictures of me as a baby because I only have one picture (which is a photo copy) from when I was 3 months old. I want to know if I have any older or younger siblings and if they got clean after we were taken away. I have always wanted a younger sister.

Hopefully they want to meet me. I will be sad in away if they refuse to meet me because I really want to find out information about my past.
